You must also have a valid First Aid qualification equal or higher than the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Qualification, which can be booked here. This MUST be achieved prior to the commencement of any security training.

DURATION

The course is run "blended", with 2 hours Pre-Course Reading followed by 3 Days of Face-to-Face Classroom Theory & Practical Training Sessions

COURSE LAYOUT

DAY 1:

Introductions and theory presentation followed by the practical side of applying handcuffs to a compliant subject. This covers compliant front and rear stack and rear back to back.

DAY 2:

Practical lessons on fundamentals of Handcuffing, Subject Control, Takedowns of a Subject and Controlling a Subject on the Ground. This is followed by practical lessons of handcuffing non-compliant subjects whilst on the ground in ‘rear stack’ application.

DAY 3:

Practical lessons on handcuffing non-compliant subjects whilst on the ground in ‘rear back to back’ application. The final part will be Hands-On Scenario-Based assessments on everything taught. Finally, a Course Summary and Debrief will be held to reinforce learning from the course instructors.

The entire course will be taught safely in AEC Protection's New, State-of-the-Art Classrooms and Physical Intervention Dojo Area.

Prerequisites

Candidates wishing to participate in this course MUST be able to prove prior completion of an approved 'Application Of Physical Intervention Skills In The Private Security Industry' Unit/Programme. This can be demonstrated by producing a Current, Valid SIA Licence (Door Supervision or Close Protection): or by evidencing these qualifications with an Original Course Certificate.

Additionally, as of April 2021, you MUST hold a Verified & Accredited Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Qualification (or equivalent), which must be achieved prior to the commencement of any security training and have at least 12 months remaining until expiry.
