Level 3 First Response Emergency Care (FREC) (RQF)
Description
The Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care (Level 3 RQF) Course is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, ideal for those looking to work or volunteer as a first responder and covers the full range of skills required by the HSE for first aid, and is the leading qualification for events cover. For those with further ambitions, it also forms the first step of a programme to become a Paramedic.
The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace, where the primary or secondary focus of the role involves giving Emergency Medical Care as the First Responder. Among the first to arrive at a scene, first responders typically include police officers, firefighters, and those providing medical cover at festivals and events such as Emergency/Community First Responders, Door Supervisors, Close Protection Operatives and Security Guards as well as those working in high risk environments including the military, power stations, agriculture and manufacturing.
This Course is a ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENT to obtain the SIA Close Protection Licence. It is also suitable for those SIA Close Protection Operatives, Door Supervisors and Security Officers/Guards wishing to enhance their knowledge in First Aid, or progressing from the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) & First Aid at Work (FAW) Course.
This course is suitable for people aged 17+ with a minimum of Level 2 English & Maths and a basic understanding of First Aid.
You must also be physically fit enough to perform CPR for at least 4 minutes on the floor.
This informative, hands-on 5-day course fulfils the competencies set out in the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level D, providing the knowledge and practical skills needed to deal with a range of prehospital emergency care situations. The Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care (Level 3 RQF) covers; administration of emergency oxygen, management of trauma patients, major illnesses and much more
In line with industry guidance, the qualification supports responders for a period of 3 years, at which point learners will need to requalify. In addition, we recommend that learners refresh their knowledge annually.
Delivered in a classroom setting, this course offers a theory, practical and hands-on approach that delivers the skills and confidence to use advanced First Responder skills in a real-life situation. For added reassurance, each learner is assessed throughout the course using a range of practical demonstrations, question and answer sessions, quizzes and engaging activities designed to coach and support them.
To ensure you get the most effective learning experience, learners must be physically able to participate, and we limit group size to 6-12 people.
We recommend that you bring your own lunch, as not all venues have food outlets on site or nearby.
On successful completion of this course, you will receive the Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care (Level 3 RQF) Certificate which is valid for 3 years. This course meets the requirements specified by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
