Description

The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace, where the primary or secondary focus of the role involves giving Emergency Medical Care as the First Responder on the scene of an accident or emergency. Roles may include, Security Operatives, Close Protection Officers, Event Medical Operatives, Cabin Crew and Community First Responders, among others.

This Course is a ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENT to obtain the SIA Close Protection Licence. It is also suitable for those SIA Close Protection Operatives, Door Supervisors and Security Officers/Guards wishing to enhance their knowledge in First Aid, or progressing from the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) & First Aid at Work (FAW) Course.

This course is suitable for people aged 16+ with a minimum of Level 1 English & Maths.

In line with industry guidance, the qualification supports responders for a period of 3 years, at which point learners will need to resit the course. In addition, we recommend that learners refresh their knowledge annually.

Delivered in a classroom setting, this course offers a theory, practical and hands-on approach that delivers the skills and confidence to use advanced First Responder skills in a real-life situation. For added reassurance, each learner is assessed throughout the course using a range of practical demonstrations, question and answer sessions, quizzes and engaging activities designed to coach and support them.

To ensure you get the most effective learning experience, learners must be physically able to participate, and we limit group size to 12 people.

We recommend that you bring your own lunch, as not all venues have food outlets on site or nearby.

On successful completion of this course, you will receive the Highfield Level 3 Award in Emergency Care for First Responders (RQF) certificate which is valid for 3 years. This course meets the requirements specified by the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
